Xiaomi Mijia

(4.5 / 5)

I’m a big fan of the Xiaomi Mijia, partly why I made it by best budget buy for our top 5 action cams review, It’s a great little 4K camera which only costs £80, perfect for beginners.

  • Ambarella A12S75 imaging processor (SoC);
  • Sony Exmor IMX317 image sensor;
  • 145° wide angle, F/2.8 aperture lens;
  • Native Bluetooth & WiFi connectivity;
  • 2.4″ touch screen display (640 x 360);
  • Dual microphone system;
  • UHD video recording with up to 30 fps;
  • Ultra high frame rate (up to 240 fps at 720P);
  • High bit rate, up to 100MBps;
  • Electronic image stabilization (Works up to 1080p@60fps);
  • Up to 8MP photo resolution;
  • Mobile device APP (iOS and Android);
  • High-capacity removable battery (1450mAh)
  • Tripod mounting hole (1/4″);
  • Underwater operation with dedicated case.

Rocking an incredible 4K/30fps Sony sensor and Ambarella chip, the Mijia certainly represents the way that the action camera market is going, and that’s cheaper and higher quality, this camera can even take RAW imagery if required, and whilst it may be slightly fragile without its case, I think that its definitely hardy enough to still be considered a action camera.

It also has brilliant EIS. The Mijia is perfect for travelling and vlogging.

The camera tends to take roughly 6 seconds to boot up.

Test imagery

Xiaomi Mijia downgraded from 4K to 1080p footage, slightly frustrating colour switch bug occurs whilst underwater but we believe that will be fixed soon. Copyright Review22.com
